Once an area largely devoted to agriculture, Hudsonville has grown by leaps and bounds in the past two decades. Hudsonville features a mix of pre- and post-war houses in the City of Hudsonville (a smaller area off Chicago Drive), but most houses in the school district were built in the ‘90s and ‘00s. The region continues to grow with several developments currently underway. The Hudsonville Public School system and private Unity Christian are both noteworthy, as both institutions possess academic prestige and state championships. Downtown Hudsonville has undergone a transformation and features restaurants, shops, and a farmer’s market.
